The luxurious spa facilities and the charming village offer a variety of activities.
Some people opt for the swimming pools of the spa while others prefer the relaxing atmosphere of the village where children can roam freely and safely. Those who want to explore further afield have much to chose from:artistic and architectural treasures, beaches, footpaths for rambling and hiking. Here are a few suggestions:
- Picasso's ceramics in the museum of modern art in Ceret
- the delightful harbour of Collioure, inspiration for the "fauvist" artistic movement
- the romanesque abbeys of Serrabona, St Michel de Cuxa and St Martin du Canigou
- a walk up the valley of the Castellane to the richly forested Col de jau
- a more strenuous trek up to the Madres
peak or to the Canigou (the magic mountain where every Catalan
becomes a poet).

Far from the hassle of mass tourism, a visit to Molitg-les-Bains
will provide you with a real taste of freedom and culture.
The Catalan cellist Pablo Casals instituted the internationally
renowned music festival now held every year from late July to the
middle of August in the nearby abbey of St.Michel de Cuxa.
During his long stays in Molitg, Casals enjoyed games of "pétanque"
with the villagers who welcome all newcomers to their game.
Other local traditions include Sardanes folkdancing and cargolades
(giant snail barbecues).
Many people join a walk to an old country chapel, and after mass,
treat themselves to grilled lamb and snails with aïoli (homemade
garlic mayonnaise).
Or you can jump over the bonfire on Midsummer nigth and share grilled
sausages, catalan sweets and muscat.
